Priority #2 - Culture of Learning

Background/Why: Although it has been almost 5 years since the pandemic, we continue to see an impact at Revere. We do experience students choosing online learning options as opposed to brick-and-mortar or we see attendance concerns. Although some students are performing below grade level, we are not making this connection with the previously seen "learning loss" caused by the pandemic. Revere is well below the state average when it comes to chronic absenteeism and behavior concerns but we continue to promote a culture of inclusivity and anti-bullying.

Priority Action Detailed

Plan:

  1. Expand learning opportunities through CTE course offerings to engage students in content relative to their ICAP.

  2. Utilize an after-school program to address academic, attendance, and behavioral issues.

  3. Emphasize parent involvement in student learning and provide opportunities for engagement.

Timeline:  2 years (2024-26)

Plan: Using interest inventories and a new partnership with eDynamic Learning we not only provide more individualized course options for students but also virtual reality CTE courses.

The after-school program has started this year and we will continue if it is successful. So far it has reduced our ineligibility list to less then 10% of our student population.
