Colorado Universal Preschool

All children in Colorado can register for up to 15 hours per week of free, high-quality preschool in their year before kindergarten through Colorado’s Universal Pre-K (UPK) Program. See More Information in the UPK Guide for Families.

• Families may qualify for more free hours based on a number of qualifying factors, per available funding. See more information here.

• Depending on the provider, families have the option of paying for additional hours if desired.

• 3 Year Old's should contact their school district for preschool services.

• Preschool aged children with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) should contact their Special Education Administrative Unit (AU) before registering.

2024-25 Universal Preschool Enrollment

• Pre-Registration: Families can pre-register with a known provider to continue care for a child currently enrolled, with a sibling currently enrolled, or with a family member currently employed with a UPK Provider through March 28, 2024. Register here or work directly with your provider to register.

• Family Matching: Families can browse providers and see if they qualify for additional hours by registering here to be matched with their top 10 providers in April and July.

• Direct Enrollment: After the matching rounds end, families can work directly with a UPK Provider to enroll, if space is available, through the end of the school year.
