head with a light bulb in the middle

Background/Why: Revere, like many schools, has been negatively impacted by the recent pandemic. We have experienced low grade performance, grade retention/lack of credits obtained, high mobility, students choosing to leave brick and mortar for online learning opportunities, an increase in social/emotional and mental health issues, and poor attendance. Addressing these issues will lead to better engagement in school.

Priority Action Detailed

Plan:

  1. Expand learning opportunities through CTE course offerings to engage students in content relative to their ICAP.
  2. Utilize an after school program to address academic, attendance, and behavioral issues.
  3. Emphasize parent involvement in student learning and provide opportunities for engagement.

Timeline: We are gathering data and interest information this year and would like to offer new courses starting in 2023-24 school year.

The after school program has started this year and we will continue if it is successful. So far it has reduced our ineligibility list to 25% of what it was last year.

Responsible:

  1. Counselor, CTE teachers, principal, superintendent
  2. Principal
